Biography

Mr. Dear joined the firm in September, 2006, after serving the State of Texas for five years as an Assistant District Attorney. He practices civil and criminal litigation. He is a seasoned trial lawyer, having tried over 80 cases to verdict. He represents clients involved in litigation in commercial, financial, real estate, and media related lawsuits.

In criminal matters, Mr. Dear provides a strong and zealous defense for those citizens accused of crimes at the trial and appellate levels. As an Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Dear prosecuted the most serious of crimes including several murder cases - some of which garnered local and national media coverage. One such case involving a defendant charged in the murder of her father, a prominent business owner in West Columbia, Texas, was featured on the A&E Network real-crime television show City Confidential in the episode "West Columbia: Killing Cousins."
